Operations Office - Advises the Commander and staff on operational matters including the prioritization & validation of internal and external tasks. The S-3 drafts, develops, recommends, and publishes command policy on all matters pertaining Formal Schools, Service Level Training and Base Operations.
Air Section - Oversees and liaises every component and aspect that deals with aviation. This section is the single point of contact for aviation operations across the spectrum for DOD, USFS, and DT&E. The Air Section also assists when practical to integrate training with civilian aeromedical services.
Range Control - Provides range/training area and airspace control, medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) control and a means of passing and receiving essential information to all commands engaged in training at the MCMWTC. Control of training activities aboard the MCMWTC is accomplished through a combination of radio coordination with the range control facility and through range inspectors who monitor various training activities.
Academics Section - Support course staffs through academic management & instructor development through the instructor and faculty development program (Mountain Warfare Instructor {MWI/Red Hat} qualification, MWI progressions, TTPs for facilitation, & opportunities with Lake Tahoe Community College), enhance capabilities, provide accurate materials for courses, and enable high quality instruction IAW TECOM education standards and guidance for modernization of adult learning methods.
Mountain Warfare Instruction Group - Oversees the conduct of all Formal School periods of instruction. Executes the planning, coordination, and execution of the Service-Level Training Exercise.
Exercise Control Section - Design, develop, and administer a relevant, comprehensive scenario nested with MAGTF-TC that replicates a peer-to-peer adversary threat in order to support the Service-Level Training Event (Mountain Exercise).
Joint National Training Capability (JNTC) - The JNTC Program complements other collective joint training programs by extending joint context into Service training programs primarily at the tactical level. JNTC addresses Service joint training issues by first assessing the joint training environment through accreditation of training programs and certification of sites and then identifying solutions to mitigate shortfalls.
